London 4-piece Drool are comprised of Joey Rogers (singer) from Walsall, Martin Söderin (drummer) from Östersund, Sweden, Louis Greenway (guitarist) from Coventry and Charlie Pinnock (bassist) from Hertfordshire. Would you believe they formed after randomly meeting in a London greasy spoon! Drool have four singles to date including "Junkyard", a song described as being "a feral assault of Cobain-indebted grunge, that shoots directly for the heart and the head".
Two EP's and an eventual album release are in their plan for 2021. With touring on hold Drool have put their energy into writing and recording, and it is definitely paying off..........
Drool provide us with a perfect indie Valentine's Day ballad. Inspired by Lee Hazlewood’s "Summer Wine", new single 'Lizard' is a dark and brooding track with a hint of The Jesus and Mary Chain. It's the guitar here that wields the emotional power. Add in delicious vocals and weaving harmonies and you have a wonderful emotional song which soars as it progresses. The intensity builds throughout the track and weaves its magic to draw you in. Produced by the band and mixed by Tom Dalgety who has also worked with Pixies and Royal Blood amongst others, you can hear the common threads. 'Lizard' parallels the debauched evenings of its protagonist, waking each morning and forgetting who they are with - surely the perfect ironic Valentine's Day sentiment.
