Let us introduce you to Los Angeles-based four piece Jagged Baptist Club. Formed in late 2018, it is the dwelling collaboration of Blake Stokes (guitar/vox), Morgan Ponder (drums), Josh Boyd (synths) and CJ Ramsey (bass).
They released their debut album "Reptile Super Show" in Summer 2019 via Chain Letter Collective and just unleashed new single 'Temptation Death House'.
As a good start into 2021 Blowtorch Recordings, based in Galway/Ireland, welcomed them to their roster.
Please do not be put off by the title of this track! This has a drum and bass groove all the way through, played live rather than sampled. The depth of sound vibrates through your speakers. Weave in a symphony of synths and delicious vocals and you have “Temptation Death House”. This is smooth, a rich vein of electronica which slowly builds in momentum and intensity as the track progresses, almost without you realizing it. It has a hypnotic quality, just like temptation itself, drawing you in.
'Temptation Death House' is a departure from their normal vibe. Rather than “guitar-wielding, atonal sonic terrorists”, which sounds pretty cool to be honest, they have adopted a more Depeche Mode-esque approach to this track, and it works.

“Temptation Death House” is the title track and first single from the band's forthcoming album. Singer/guitarist Blake Stokes describes the album like "Public Image Limited meets Division of Laura Lee, covering "Trompe Le Monde" while having a nervous breakdown that's being live-streamed on the internet."
