This is absolutely what we need for a new week - Berlin band LOBSTERBOMB’s new release 'Wake Up'. Full of indie garage rock guitars and spikey vocals, it does exactly what it says on the tin. Its punchy and energetic vibe demands your attention, with lyrics inspired by the frustrations of the constraints that society places on us to live our lives in a certain way. The raw energy here is a driving force, pushing you to question those constraints and realise we can change in order to live a more contented life. 'Wake Up' is a personal call to arms and its pumped-up positive vibes gives us that added motivation. The pounding drums force us to get up and act. It gives us energy to question what makes us happy. “Wake up, we won’t stop” shouts the chorus, as if a reminder that we should never stop trying to find our own contentment, regardless of what society dictates.
LOBSTERBOMB only formed last year in a Berlin basement. The trio of Nico Rosch, Vik Chi and Crayon Jones released their debut single 'Yes Yes Yeah' in January 2021 and followed it up with 'I Want Noise' in March. They are currently working on an EP which is expected later this year.
