Indie rock band The Institutes, who formed in Coventry in 2018, release their much anticipated debut album “Colosseums” (release dates: Friday 15/10/21 (VINYL & CD) & Friday 22/10/21 (digital)).
The four piece is comprised of Reid Currie (vocals/guitar), Andy Hall (guitar/backing vocals), Kirk Savage (drums) and Andy Lowe (bass). Their sound can be described between New Order, The La ‘s and 80's band The Primitives, with an emphasis on melody & harmony, perfectly matched with candid, insightful, poetic lyrics. They bring along a much needed pick me up to these dark days.
Previous singles, 'All That You’ll Ever Know', 'I Just Can’t Keep Myself From Loving You' & 'Alleyways' have all been featured on BBC Radio 1, BBC 6Music, Radio X, XS Manchester and appear all on the album.
The album's title takes its name from the legendary Coventry nightclub, The COLOSSEUM, inspired by the timeless capacity of such “COLOSSEUMS” in small towns and big cities everywhere, to create interactions which evolve into life changing experiences and events.
