CROWS announce new album "Reason Enough" & share new single 'Vision Of Me'.
After announcing new album "Reason Enough" (out 27th September 2024 via Bad Vibrations), Crows release latest single "Vision Of Me"
Singer James Cox says on the new track:
"When writing 'Vision Of Me' I was struggling with some unhealthy emotional tendencies that I’d developed over several years. I was exploring my own reactive behaviour and becoming someone I hated, and at the same time, coming to terms with the reasons this happened. It's a very cathartic song for me as it stirs up some difficult memories, but also shows me how far I’ve come since then, and that the things that took me there are no longer able to hurt me."
Their 2019 debut album "Silver Tongues" put them firmly on the map as a punk band with an indomitable spirit and a penchant for abrasion. Follow-up "Beware Believers" built up on this laced with sharp, political lyricism. Over the years they’ve seen support from KEXP, The Line Of Best Fit, NME, CLASH, Loud & Quiet, Kerrang, Rough Trade, The Independent, BBC 6 Music, BBC Radio 1 only to mention a few.
"Reason Enough" will be the band’s third album, which have taken the longest to write. The post-punk quartet, comprised of James Cox (vocals), Steve Goddard (guitar), Jith Amarasinghe (bass) and Sam Lister (drums), swapped their usual rehearsal space, a small studio in Homerton, East London, with a former Catholic church and convent in Stroud.
The result is a concise, 10-track album which shows Crows’ sonic versatility. They collaborated with Mercury Prize-winning producer Andy Savours, who’s previously worked with the likes of Black Country, New Road and My Bloody Valentine.
"We’re doing the same thing, but a lot better," Cox says. "This is Crows in high definition."
